This project began incidentally one day when Etanna's purse was
stolen out of her car. Besides the hassles of losing a cell phone, wallet, and camera; the
most valuable item in the bag was her notebook. It contained her thoughts, ideas,
brainstorms for projects, writings, journals, doodles…months and months of
creativity were in those pages.
Losing this notebook was like losing treasured photos
album with irreplaceable moments captured magically in time.
After the bag was stolen, we scoured the city
trashcans, hoping the person would have use only for the wallet and camera and not the
notebook. We were unsuccessful in finding it and thought of it as an old friend who had
lost contact.
Then, a couple of weeks later we got a phone call
from a Daly City bus driver. He had found the bag and notebook next to a trash can. Inside
the bag was the notebook.
It is a simple story. |
But in this simple
story
we see the manifestation of a mythic cycle,
a circle.
The notebook goes away.
The notebook comes back. |
So we decided to explore this
cycle further. |
We have left this new notebook, hoping for it to be
cycled around this city, from one finder to another, perhaps going further in its journey.
We have energized it, we have made our imprint on
it, we have started its engines but most of it is blank, open and waiting for new
contributions.
It is our hope to create a vessel for collective
creativity within its pages.
Collages, drawings, words,
musings...
Add anything you want. |
Leave your mark,
donate a small part of yourself
to the pages.
Fill it.
Fill us.
Fill the space...
not only on blank pages,
but in the space beyond your skin. |
Lets create together,
lets cycle our energies,
lets use this notebook as the bridge. |
